Qualified Electrician

Location: London and the Home Counties

About Temp Electrix

Temp Electrix is a specialist temporary site services contractor delivering high-quality temporary electrical and mechanical installations across London and the Home Counties.

We work exclusively with Tier 1 and Tier 2 main contractors on major construction projects, from early works through to completion.

Due to continued growth and a strong forward workload, we are looking for a Qualified Electrician to join our London operations team.

The Role

As a Qualified Electrician with Temp Electrix, you will play a key role in the installation, maintenance and decommissioning of temporary electrical systems on live construction sites.

You will work as part of a professional delivery team, supported by experienced contract management and clear working systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, alter, maintain and remove temporary electrical systems on construction sites.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with BS 7671, current health and safety legislation, and company procedures.
  • Work closely with site management teams and clients to deliver work safely and efficiently.
  • Complete testing, fault finding and remedial work as required.
  • Manage tools, materials and plant on site.
  • Complete weekly site paperwork, including timesheets and basic site records.
  • Support, mentor and work alongside apprentices and trainee electricians.
  • Raise technical or site-based issues promptly through the appropriate channels.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Electrician with a minimum of three years' post-qualification experience.
  • ECS Gold Card.
  • Strong understanding of site safety and experience working on live construction sites.
  • A professional approach when dealing with clients and site teams.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
  • 2391 Testing and Inspection qualification, or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working with temporary electrics or construction site services.

Estimating Manager

Location: London and the Home Counties

The Opportunity

Temp Electrix is growing, and we are looking for an experienced Estimating Manager who wants greater influence, ownership and progression.

This role is suited to a commercially sharp, detail-focused estimator who is confident managing tenders from initial review through to final submission.

You will have the opportunity to make a direct impact in a business where the estimating function helps shape growth, without the bureaucracy of a large contractor.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing the full end-to-end estimating function.

Estimating and Cost Planning

  • Produce accurate and detailed take-offs.
  • Analyse drawings, specifications and client documentation.
  • Price labour, materials, plant, logistics and identified risk items.
  • Ensure tenders are commercially sound and aligned with current market rates.

Commercial Input

  • Identify value engineering opportunities.
  • Highlight risks, exclusions and assumptions.
  • Report to the Managing Director during final tender reviews.

Client and Supplier Engagement

  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations.
  • Clarify tender queries with clients and main contractors.
  • Build and maintain relationships that improve competitiveness.

Team Contribution

  • Work alongside the junior estimator and contribute to their development.
  • Help refine and improve tendering processes.
  • Contribute to a high-quality, organised and consistent pre-construction workflow.

About You

  • Experienced as an Estimating Manager, Senior Estimator or an established Estimator ready to take the next step.
  • Familiar with electrical, M&E or temporary site services packages.
  • Confident reading drawings and producing accurate pricing.
  • Commercially aware, with sound judgement relating to risk.
  • Comfortable communicating with clients, suppliers and main contractors.
  • Methodical, detail-focused and able to manage multiple tenders.

  • £55,000 salary.
